General FAQs

Why is it better to get teeth whitened at dentist?

Non-professional teeth whitening services aren’t regulated.
Our trained professional dentists and hygienists are permitted to use products with higher concentrations of hydrogen peroxide.
Teeth whitening at the dentist usually works much professional than Non-professional teeth whitening. In addition to the stronger peroxide solution that’s used in dental offices, heat or light or both can be used to speed up and intensify the whitening effects of professional treatment.
The actual whitening process involves the dentist applying a gel made of 15% to 35% hydrogen peroxide to your front teeth. Hydrogen peroxide can penetrate the porous outer layer of your teeth and break apart stain compounds using a chemical reaction called oxidation.

Getting your teeth cleaned and polished not only gives you a great smile, but it also prevents future decay and gum disease. Getting your teeth cleaned every 6 months gives Sunrise Dental team a chance to examine your oral health.

Is there a difference between electric toothbrush and manual toothbrush?

In general, electric toothbrushes do decrease more plaque and gingivitis than manual toothbrushes. A latest study shows that after 3 months of use, plaque was reduced by 21 percent and gingivitis by 11 percent. Oscillating (rotating) toothbrushesseem to work better than just vibrating toothbrushes.
Electric toothbrushes clean teeth and gums much better than a manual toothbrush. Scientists found that people who use an electric toothbrush have healthier gums, less tooth decay and also keep their teeth for longer, compared with those who use a manual toothbrush.
